Margalla Hills



Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan it is the most advanced and planned city which is equally important for local and international tourist, business men and students. There are many attractions for tourists to visit Islamabad for visitors there are verity of hotels which are as per international standards, guest house and quality markets are available. The best destination we are going to introduce is Margalla Hills.


Margalla Hills:

It is situated in Islamabad and you can say Islamabad is valley of Margalla hills. They are lush green mountains the maximum height of peak is about 1000 meters which also receives snow fall in winter while the average height is 650 meters. The name of highest peak is Tilla Charouni. Margalla hills consist of 250 to 300 species of plant which consist of trees, shrubs, herbs, climbers, grasses and fodder crops. The famous trees are Pine tree, Quercus leucotrichophora, Eucalyptus, Peepal trees, and Paper Mulberry.


Place To Visit In Margalla Hills:

There are various places to visit in Margalla hill although some of them have their own identity.


1- Peer Sohawa:

It is the most famous picnic spot in Margalla hill people divided it in to two parts one is Old and new peer sohawa. The road come from F-6 near Jinnah super market to peer sohawa whole road is single you can see many monkeys around the road. Both side of road have lush green and dark Jungle. The most visited place in peer sohawa is Monal hotel although there are few more restaurants but the Monal hotel is one of famous hotel in Peer sohawa. There are two villages near it when you go to peer sohawa on the way you can see Talhar and Gokeena where you found the gulch of crystal clear water in summer young boys use to swim on this amazing gulch. In 2005 peer sohawa receives 8 inches of snow falling which attracts thousands of tourists to visit Margalla hills. The main issue to visit peer sohawa is the parking problem on weekend.


2- Daman-e-Koh:

It is the nearest place from Islamabad city to visit even you can reach by walk from F-6 to Daman-e-koh a walking track from zoo leads you to daman-e-koh which is also short cut you can reach there with in 45 minutes to 1 hour maximum. In earlier time Daman-e-Koh was not too much established but now there is a wide car parking as compare to peer sohawa after park your car you can sit on train car which drop you near hotels. The atmosphere of place is very pleasant. Grass of park is shiny and cozy along with color full flowers. There are two viewpoints one is for Rawal lake view and other is in front side for whole city where you can use binoculars by putting coin in it. Daman-e-koh is good photogenic place where picture from any camera gives perfect results. You can plan one day tour along with family in peaceful and lovely environment and you going to love it.


3- Said-pur Village:

It is the valley of Margalla hills which have the oldest house and temple of Hindus. Now government of Pakistan have established and re-built the heritage of Hindus in the village which attracts tourists to visit those historical buildings. In village there is also one heritage center built by the government on which historical items related to old said-pur village and some Art of Pakistan is displayed. There are many gift shops and restaurants in village which are neat and clean having quality food and services. You can see Monal hotel (peer-sohawa) right at the top of Said-pur village. It is the best place for family visit they visit Daman-e-loh and take meal from Said-pur village.


4- Bari Imam:

Although it is not an tourism spot it is related to religious place. Muslim come here to full fill their desires by giving Niaz and Salam to the Syed Abdul Latif Kazmi who's tomb is famous as Bari Imam. They believe that by praying in front of his tomb ALLAH hopefully accept their wishes. Many people not come here to pray or desire but they just came to visit a place. You can see small Bazaar out of the Bari Imam building gate from where people get food in cheap price for distribution. There are many small shops having different kind of gifts which you can bring for your family and friends. It is also very suitable place for family visit you can also access the nearest place Shahdra from here.


How To Access Islamabad:

If you are coming from out of city you can come to following bus stations Faizabad bus stand, Karachi Company, Peer wadhai, Bahara ko and Golra mor. If you want to come through train there are few station the nearest station is I-9 industrial Area station and Rawalpindi Cant station other stations are Gujjar khan, Mandra, and Chaklala station. If you are coming from out of country you have to take flights to Islamabad directly from other cities and from out of country.
